We’re delighted to share that Wave Active’s new Lilian’s Room Lite facility at The Wellbeing Square in Newhaven has received recognition from two health and fitness industry publications, WellNation and Health Club Management (HCM).

Following the success of the original Lilian’s Room at Downs Leisure Centre in Seaford, Lilian’s Room Lite officially opened on 5th October 2026, bringing a new approach to accessible exercise to Newhaven.
The facility features seven specialist power-assisted exercise machines from Innerva, alongside additional rehabilitation and therapeutic equipment. It provides a welcoming environment for older adults, people living with long-term health conditions and those looking to rebuild strength, mobility and confidence.

Working Together with Quayside Medical Practice
Alongside the opening of Lilian’s Room Lite, we have also been strengthening our local healthcare connections.
We were delighted to welcome colleagues from Quayside Medical Practice to visit our new facility. With both organisations based at The Wellbeing Square, we are working together to support the health and wellbeing of the local community.
Their visit provided a great opportunity to see Lilian’s Room Lite firsthand, learn more about the specialist equipment and understand how accessible physical activity can support people with different health and mobility needs.
Our ongoing collaboration reflects the benefits of bringing healthcare and leisure services together, helping local residents access opportunities to improve their health, confidence and independence.
