Finding out what Lane is right for you helps give you confidence in the pool!
Whether you are looking to develop and practice your swimming skills, have more free time in a swimming pool environment or looking to improve your health and fitness, Lane Swimming provides a structured space to swim in. Check our guide to Lane’s to help you decide which lane is right for you.
- Fast Lane – Swimmers should be able to swim 1 length of the pool in around 20-30 seconds
- Medium Lane – Swimmers should be able to swim 1 length of the pool in around 30-40 seconds
- Slow Lane – Swimmers should be able to swim 1 length of the pool in around 40-50 seconds
Although some of our swim sessions are bookable via online or the Wave App, we also offer the ability to just turn up at the time of our sessions.

Fitness Swim
Our Fitness Swim sessions are created for swimmers who will be continually swimming for fitness and stamina.
The pool will have up to five lanes in use:
2 x Fast Lane
2 x Medium Lane
1 x Slow Lane.
Fitness Swim is available to book online, via the app or to drop in, according to availability.
This session is suitable to those aged 11 years and above.

Lane Swim
Lane Swim sessions are designed for swimmers who prefer to swim at a slower pace in lanes.
The pool will have doubles lanes, to provider a larger swimming lane:
1 x Medium Lane
1 x Slow Lane
A single Fast Lane.
Lane Swim is available to book online, via the app or to drop in, according to availability.
For leisurely swimmers, this session is suitable for those aged 11 year and above.

Adult Only Swim
Across our timetables we have identified swimming times which are for adults only.
Adult only sessions are available to book online, via the app or to drop in, according to availability.
These sessions are suitable for those aged 16 years and over.
