Opening at Downs Leisure Centre in early 2026, Lilian’s Room will be a calm, welcoming space designed to support gentle, low-impact exercise in a safe and supportive environment.
The room will feature power-assisted equipment, offering a comfortable way to stay active and helping to bridge the gap between clinical rehabilitation and everyday movement – all at a pace that feels right for you.
Together, these tools will form an inclusive space designed to support people of all ages, including those living with long-term health conditions, through safe, adaptive exercise and meaningful social connection.
This special space has been made possible thanks to the generosity of a local resident, Lilian, who kindly left a legacy gift to Wave Active. While living at a nearby care home, Lilian enjoyed taking part in our Health outreach sessions, and in her memory, Lilian’s Room has been created to support active ageing, recovery, and independence.
